The Best Happy Hours in Sarasota
One thing I’m always going to seek out is a great happy hour. I love winding down after work with friends, getting a few appetizers, and a drink whether it be a glass of wine, cocktail, or mocktail! So when I moved to Sarasota finding the best happy hours in Sarasota was high on my to-do list. Fortunately, this wasn’t too difficult because Sarasota has many great places for happy hour, some even on weekends! Now I want to share with you some of my favorites so you can also enjoy these happy hour hot spots!
Cask and Ale
Cask and Ale is a hot spot in downtown Sarasota primarily known for their cocktails but they have excellent happy hour bites as well! For Cask and Ale’s happy hour, there are specials on wells, draft beers, and a range of $6 cocktails like old-fashioned, espresso martinis, moscow mule, and margaritas. As far as bar bites you can enjoy items like their Philly cheesesteak egg rolls or three tacos with your choice of protein and toppings.

1592 | Wood Fired Kitchen & Cocktails
1592 is one of the best downtown spots for happy hours in Sarasota! They have drinks for $5 and under as well as a dozen oysters for $15! Other things you need to try off the happy hour menu are the falafel and vegetarian dolmades but their regular menu is full of terrific shareables like the chicken open-face gyro, saganaki flambé, and oven-baked feta.

Boca
Boca is one of my favorite spots for brunch and lunch in Sarasota but has quickly moved up my list of favorite happy hours in Sarasota. Enjoy $7 appetizers, $5 draft beers, $6 wines by the glass, and $3 off craft cocktails. A few appetizers I recommend trying are the brie and apple flatbread, parmesan truffle fries, and the Boca bruschetta.

Selva
Selva is a terrific Peruvian restaurant with two locations in Sarasota – one downtown and the other at University Town Center. Both locations offer a daily happy hour with an extensive menu of their signature cocktails for $12 and appetizers for $10-15. I recommend trying the Chilean sea bass croquettes, empanadas, and of course, Selva’s ceviche options!

Cooper’s Hawk
Cooper’s Hawk is a popular chain restaurant that can be found around the United States with a newer location in Sarasota centrally located off Fruitville Road. You can enjoy wine by the glass and select specialty cocktails alongside some of their best appetizers and flatbreads. I recommend the crispy brussel sprouts, tomato bruschetta, and chicken potstickers!

Turmeric
Turmeric is by far one of our favorite Indian restaurants in Sarasota and when we aren’t gorging ourselves at their lunch buffet or having a date night for dinner, Turmeric offers one of the best happy hours in Sarasota with BOGO appetizers. Every dish we’ve had at Turmeric has been delicious but some of our favorite small bites are pani puri shots, samosas, kurikuri bhindi, and assorted pakora.

Hyde Park
Hyde Park is a popular steakhouse in Sarasota with a short, but excellent happy hour with $8-10 signature cocktails and a wonderful selection of bar bites highlighting their regular menu for a bargain. They have items like wagyu beef carpaccio, dry-aged sirloin sliders, and tuna wonton cups.

Libby’s
Libby’s is one of our favorite lunch spots for American fare and they have a great expansive happy hour with $6 bites from their menu like their delicious brussel sprouts, black and bleu sliders, avocado egg rolls, and fried mac and cheese bites. Pair it all with a $7 martini or $5 glass of wine!

Apollonia Grill
Apollonia Grill has wonderful Mediterranean cuisine with a vast menu of delicious appetizers and entrees with a great selection for their happy hour menu including a charcuterie board, lamb sliders, zucchini cakes, and tuna crudo to enjoy alongside a glass of wine, sangria, and cocktails.

Veronica Fish & Oyster
Veronica Fish & Oyster is an upscale oyster bar and seafood restaurant with a cozy bar area for their happy hour. They offer a number of their specialty cocktails for $12 as well as great sharable items like their mezze plate, royal red shrimp cocktail, and smoked fish dip.

Duval’s
Duval’s is one of the best spots for fresh seafood in Sarasota and they have a nice happy hour menu with shrimp and crab stuffed mushrooms, crispy calamari, and shaved steak spring rolls. If you’re a little hungrier you can also get a ½ po’ boy with your choice of fried shrimp, oysters, or chicken on a baguette with chipotle remoulade and a side of fries.

Brine
Looking for another great happy hour with seafood? Brine has a lot of terrific options like $2 oysters on the half shell, oysters Rockefeller, garlic saffron shrimp, shrimp tacos, and wagyu French onion sliders.

Tommy Bahama
Looking for a great happy hour in Sarasota near a beach? Tommy Bahama is just steps away from Lido Key Beach in St. Armand’s. Enjoy a wide selection of wines, a number of their classic cocktails, and martinis all under $11. Then order the warm goat cheese dip, pulled pork or cheeseburger sliders, blackened mahi mahi tacos, and of course, their world-famous coconut shrimp! Then, head to Lido Beach for sunset.

Bohemios
Tapas are always a great thing to share for happy hour and Bohemios has a ton of delicious tapas options for $8 like empanadas, tequeños, and ceviche that all go well with their house white or red sangria. But their other tapas are also very affordable so you can order several shareables off the regular menu as well.

Food + Beer
Food + Beer has one of the longest and most unique happy hours in Sarasota because they keep the party going nearly all day and have different daily specials. Get $4 wells and mimosas and $5 wine and drafts alongside one of their daily specials like Monday’s $6 cheeseburger and fries, Taco and Tequila Tuesdays, and bottomless mimosa Saturday and Sunday brunch.

Circo
Circo is a Tex-Mex fusion restaurant that has the best happy hour in Sarasota for BOGO everything! They have BOGO cocktails like their smoked old-fashioned and margaritas. They also have BOGO tacos including their Thai shrimp taco, Mongolian beef, and falafel. Stop in for these features plus live music multiple nights a week!

Speaks Clam Bar
Another great happy hour in Sarasota located on St. Armands is Speaks Clam Bar. You can get their shrimp arancini, shrimp cocktail, or a selection of their oysters raw, scampi style, or Rockefeller included on their happy hour menu. Libations include $3 beer, $4 glasses of wine, and $5 wells.

Kore
One of our favorite restaurants in Sarasota now has happy hour and we couldn’t be more excited! Kore is a Korean BBQ restaurant that has prime cuts of meat and plenty of vegetarian and vegan options as well. Take a seat at the bar and order a bottle of soju to sip on while feasting on a number of Korean comfort foods like japchae, kimchi jjigae, or dolsot bibimbap. If you want to get a table after and are looking for something a little lighter to snack on try the salmon crudo, shishito peppers, or yummy seafood pancake!

Patricks 1481
Patricks 1481 is my go-to happy hour spot in Sarasota when I’m extra hungry or going with a group because they have such a large menu of sharable items. Patricks has some of the best wings in Sarasota so I definitely recommend getting those to share. My first time at Patrick’s my waiter recommended ordering them extra crispy and since then I’ve always ordered them that way. Another item to order is the cheesy cauliflower sticks which are a special recipe you won’t find anywhere else! Other menu items we’ve enjoyed from Patrick’s happy hour are the Thai chicken flatbread, cheeseburger sliders, and loaded potato bites.
