The Best Sarasota Coffee Shops
Looking for a great coffee shop to work from, meet with friends, or just enjoy a regular cup of coffee? This list of the best Sarasota coffee shops will help you find your next latte! What are my qualifications? Well, I like coffee both black and in latte form so I guess that counts for something!
Project Coffee
Project Coffee is one of the best coffee shops in Sarasota that is 100% vegan! They have a full menu of all-day breakfast items, pastries, and of course, coffee, and tea. Again, it’s all vegan! I really like their smoothies, golden milk latte, and caramel iced coffee made with their in-house syrups.
As far as food goes you’ve got to try the cornbread cookie, tropical chia pudding, or the all-day burrito. It isn’t often I encourage everyone to visit more than one location of the same place but not only is Project Coffee that good, it has two unique settings with a third on the way! The first is their original location in Burns Court which we often bike to and the second, is their Rosemary District location set inside a 1925 historic Spanish-style building.

Buddy Brew Coffee
Another downtown Sarasota coffee shop is Buddy Brew Coffee which started in Tampa in 2010 and has since expanded to a few locations in Southwest Florida. I like their cold-brew coffee. Buddy Brew also has sparklers, Alligator Alley is one of my favorites which has matcha, honey, lavender syrup, and sparkling water. If you enjoy trying new coffee then I recommend signing up for their coffee club which provides you with a new bag of beans each month!

Palma Coffee
Palma Coffee has become my recent favorite coffee shop in Sarasota. They have rich, strong coffee and a cute environment tucked away off Highway 41. One of my favorite things about Palma Coffee is that they responsibly source all of their coffee beans. Stop in and get an iced shaker, Kyoto drip coffee, or one of their seasonal coffee drinks.

The Clever Cup
The Clever Cup brews local beans from Black Gold Coffee Roasters which is located in Venice. They strive to make a comfortable space for all. Stop in and get a Chagacino, a cappuccino with mushroom powder, a frozen mocha, or a cortado. In addition to coffee, they have organic tea, pastries, and a variety of vegan-friendly options including cinnamon rolls.

Pastry Art
Pastry Art Cafe is one of my more recent favorite Sarasota coffee shops. As the name suggests it has absolutely delicious pastries from almond croissants, orange chocolate chip cookies, and lemon blueberry scones. I often visit there to get pastries even more than coffee. However, they do have wonderful coffee as well! I love the Mexican Mocha Latte which has the perfect spiced chocolate flavor as well as the Cookie Butter Latte. I have yet to try any of their regular coffees because their specialty lattes are so good!
Oh, one last thing, I’d be remiss if I didn’t tell you about the artworks at Pastry Art too! When you walk in, you’ll notice decorative murals and several artworks hanging on the walls. All of these pieces were done by local artists and many art for sale.

Kahwa Coffee Roasters
Kahwa Coffee Roasters is located all over Florida including one in Sarasota and another in Bradenton. They have a great caffe mocha and latte and a refreshing choice is the Pink Fizz, an Italian soda, with raspberry-flavored syrup shaken with sparkling water, coconut milk, and berry inclusions. If you like their coffee they also have coffee subscriptions!

O&A Coffee and Supply
One of my favorite Sarasota coffee shops is O&A Coffee and Supply. Owner Justin Banister made it his mission to source high-quality small-batch coffee beans from smaller farms across the globe while harboring fair business practices, something that is, unfortunately, not always considered. In addition to having great coffee, O&A also sources their matcha from tea farms in Kyoto, Japan. Of course, I recommend any of their lattes and the matcha latte but you should also consider trying the blood orange espresso soda!

Perq Coffee Bar
I first visited Perq Coffee Bar when Logan and I lived in Sarasota for his clinical rotations, it has a unique environment and is perfect for those wanting to relax with friends or work from somewhere other than home (which was the case for me). They bring in locally produced goods and have terrific hand-crafted lattes including specialty lattes like matcha and chai.

Postal 98 Cafe
Postal 98 Cafe originated from nostalgia and a dream. Owner Ann Michelle Stoltzfus had fond childhood memories of mailing postcards to her friends at the former Pinecraft Post Office whenever she was in town with her family so when she found out the post office was closing, she decided to keep the legacy by partnering with a local coffee company, Latitude 23.5” Coffee and Tea to start Postal 98 Cafe.
This coffee shop in Sarasota is a small drive-up coffee shop that isn’t necessarily where you’ll make a workspace and chill due to a lack of parking, but it is great for grabbing a coffee to-go or sitting on the patio. I like their honey lavender latte and maple white mocha! In addition to coffee, you can order many breakfast items, pastries, sandwiches, and other light bites.
